Day 1 WELCOME TO ETHIOPIA
Ufumbuzi tourist representative will greet you at Bole International Airport. Organise transport to your hotel to leave the luggage
(if rooms are available, check in). You will then embark on a little city tour to Merkato market (the biggest open air market in East Africa), then on to the magnificent baroque style Trinity Cathedral situated on Entoto Mountain Addis Ababa highest peak and city view at 3,200m above sea level. In the evening an welcome dinner at one of Ethiopia many cultural restaurant.
Enjoy the music and dance from different parts of the country over traditional food.
Day 2 TIYA
After breakfast, go on a road trip south to Arba Minch along the Butajira road.
On theway, visit the stelae of Tiya . Stop for lunch in Welayta town try Kutfo (raw meat dish of Ethiopia).
Day 3 DORZE
Early morning drive to the hilly mountain of Gughe (the highest peak in the region)
to meet the village people of Dorze.
They were once warriors and now turned to agriculturalists.
Their houses are typically beehive shaped huts,
and they are famous for their weaving culture.
We will have lunch back in Arba Minch, then a boat trip on Lake Chamo. Known locally as the crocodile market since several crocodiles can be seen. Also found are Hippos and different kinds of birds including storks, Egyptian goose, herons etc.Late afternoon continue drive to Konso. (90Km)
Day 4 KONSO
Morning visit to the Konso village, The Konso people are famous for their natural resource conservation activities such as terracing. They are also known for wood carving art. The Waga village for the woodcarvings erected as a mark of tomb. The Konso terracing is recognized by UNESCO as world heritage site. We then drive to Turmi 160km to have lunch in then visit Turmi market of Hammer people. If we are lucky, we can catch the Bull jumping of the Hammer people an initiation ceremony for the young men from childhood to adulthood. If a boy can jump on top of more than 20 bulls (3 round tries), then he is considered as an adult man and can marry any beautiful girls in the village.
Early morning drive to Karo village to visit the Karo people and their calture. (140Km) Then drive to Dimeka to visit the Hamer and Karo market. (20Km) Lunch in Dimeka. After lunch drive to Jinka. (90Km) Hotel check in and if time allows visit the South OMO ethnological museum.
Day 6 JINKA
Drive through Mago National Park to visit the Mursi village. (90Km) The world famous Mursi people - known for the clay disc the female insert in to their lower lips as a mark of beauty. The larger the disc is, the more beautiful the lady is considered to be. Lunch in Jinka. After lunch drive to Arbaminch. (260Km)
Day 7 ADDIS ABABA
After breakfast drive to Addis Ababa through Langano. (500km). Short stop to visit in Shashemene (The Rasta village) and lake Langano and lake Ziway.
Dinner in Addis Ababa.
